I am a Sumithra, aged 32. I am having two kids. At present I live in my parents place who are still working for their living. They are living in a rented house in mylapore. My husband was working in Qatar for 8 months from 2008 oct till May 2009. He came back and joined with Sweet chariot at Ispahani centre. Do to some financial problems inside that concern, they did not pay the salary properly. Even then he patiently waited for two more months till Dec 2009. Suddenly on 8th Dec 2009, he had severe pain and was admitted at Mehta hospital and operated for Kidney stones. This surgery costed us Rs.40000/-. He was under rest for 10 days. In that time I had pain the reflex area and the gall bladder area. On investigation we found two big calculi of each measuring 1.5 cm. On the advice by the specialists I got admitted at Kumaran Hospital, P.H.Road, Chennai- Dr. Shivakumar and Dr. Ravindran kumaran on 27th Dec and was operated on 28th Dec 2009 for calculous cholcystitis / Merizz’s syndrome. The findings were abnormal with a gall bladder of 15 cm long and as a complication of the gallstone in the liver duct bypass surgery was done at that area.
On Jan 4th, 2010, there was a block in my drain tube and was re-operated to rectify it. Now the bile is excreted from my body through a drain tube which is fixed from then operated area inside the body through a hole to the outside of the body. The drain usually stops within 6 to 8 weeks. But the drain is still heavily flowing (250 ml per day) and the doctors have instructed to repeat the surgery for rectifying the problem.
For the first surgery (28.12.09) the total bill amounts to Rs.96000/-. Then for the second surgery (04.01.10) the amount was Rs.25,000/-. The post operative medicines and antibiotics itself has crossed Rs.30000/-. Moreover now I have to undergo the surgery same as the first one for the rectification of the leak which has happened at the bypass junction. I have sold all my jewels including my thali chain. Now I am helpless and I beg at your feet to help me to get operated and recover from my current condition. I look forward for your kind help.
Just give us the account number where we should transfer the amount and let the moms transfer it as per their wish. Hope this wud save more time and the amt can reach Sumithra earlier.

We are all with you in this phase and shall definitely help you out. You sounded so cheerful even after the surgery when I spoke with you but so much has gone into this. Just out of curiosity, have you taken a second opinion on your condition. Hope you are at the right place else please change the hospital/doctor so you get better treatment.

My surgery is fixed around 10th April. The surgery is to rectify the leak in the bye pass jucntion.
I have got a picture which is the post operative leak in galbladder removal
This bile will fall inside the body and will drain through the tube fised into the drain bag, which has to be emptied frequently.
If the bile comes down to 10 to 15 ml per 24 hour, the surgery would not have been fixed. Now the bile is 250 ml per 24 hour. So they have confirmed the leak and need of surgery.
