More than me, my hubby(to be) was crestfallen...he couldnt believe it. His parents were furious at my 'thimiru"...
Well, after usual samaadhaanams, (my parents, surprisingly, stood by me, and said any decision from me would be acceptable to them..!), again i spoke to him, and he assured me that everything wud be alrite, we wud be fine together, more importantly for me then, that nobody from his house would discuss this issue(of me calling it off...). After some more hiccups, we finally got married, and that incident is completely forgotten now..
I hv many times wondered, what wud hv happened had i stood my ground, then...I just cannot imagine anybody else in my life... I wonder too, what lesson God intended to teach me, with that incident...

About the State level ranks, a hypothetical situation... but hey, think of it again... State Level 50th nna kuda periya vishayam thaane...! Anyway, State level ranking are based on "marks" not "knowledge" .
Indha, schools syllabus mudikaradhu, tuition kudukaradhu ellam only for their own benefit..school's name.. But we cannot deny the fact that, many parents also aspire to see their children running in the front line of the rat-race.. This is only adding fuel to the fire..
This deadly school-image-parents-ratrace... combo is what has lead to 12th STd exams and 12th results becoming a Commercial event today... the day the results are announced, is probably the only day, almost everybody in the State watches "news"...! And the tension and TRP is comparable to an Indo-Pak match..!
Lastly, though i dont want to get into this issue, i think there is a difference in the manner of teaching in a STate Board school and CBSE school..
Yesterday (or maybe a couple of days back) there was an article in the Hindu, where this issue was discussed.. CBSE students, who switch to State Syllabus, in 11th and 12th, find it difficult to cope with the 'learn by rote' method of studying supposedly adopted by StateBoard schools..
The students are taught to 'read' the books, not 'study' them...they are expected to write(reproduce) what they read, and their minds are not allowed to think, and explore...
Though not much better can be said about CBSE syllabus either.. When i studied, in KV, we were explained the portions, but we had to 'study' for ourselves... So if we had the ability to come up with a diff solution to a problem, other than whats in the textbook, that was allowed too. Not so the case now....
