My son is in play school now and he reads alphabets. I tried to teach him to write the alphabet, but he is totally not interested to write. So i thought of starting off with reading words. When will kids start to read words or write letters?
Try buying him an educative cd rom which can spell out alphabets and also show them up on screen. You get plenty of these cd's in landmark, and odyssey (adyar) outlets. You cud also try in bookstores where they have these kind of cds
Try giving hi outlines or shapes of alphabets in a sheet of paper and give him some color crayons or pencils and enthuse him to color inside the shapes. For sometime, you will find that he does the coloring and then put him on the writing habit. This cud be a lot easier as the child will recognise the alphabets and then when it comes to writing may be curious to start. Good luck
